The mass media plays an important and major role in the celebrations of the New Year events.  Almost all the major events and incidents, the future plans and the remedies to overcome the failure if the previous years are highlighted.

Almost all the television channels telecast entertainment programmers based on the New Year.  The radio has its different bands broadcasting New Year events.  The news let us know about the celebrations worldwide.  News papers are also an important source.

Some people visit places of worship.  Some do charity.  A few love to travel to watch the world's famous New Year celebrations and events.  The theatre, the cinema, the parties, televisions, the discotheques, the ball drop, the resorts and the domestic celebrations are the means of rejoice and cheer on the New Year.  Some people love to enjoy the day on the beaches.

New Year's Day is full of celebrations.  A variety of dishes is prepared on this day.  Some people relish on hotel and restaurant food.  Food of different tastes is prepared to memorize the different feelings during the events that had happened in the year passed.  And it also helps us to prepare our minds to face any odd or happy events happening in the future.  Each and every place is colorful, merry and bright.
